This is a Walter Equipment Ltd. horizontal ribbon mixer/blender, Model R-9, Serial AO-31, dated 8/84. The unit is set up as a complete industrial mixing system with a horizontal mixing trough, internal ribbon agitator, top loading lids, bottom discharge, chain/sprocket drive, reduction gearbox, and hazardous-location rated electric motor.
Overall dimensions are approximately 5’ long x 2’ wide x 4’7” tall. The mixing drum measures approximately 4’ long x 20” wide x 24” deep. The mixer has a 6” bottom outlet fitted with a Keystone Valve Canada valve.
The drive system includes a Brook Crompton Parkinson Ltd. 3 HP motor, rated 575V, 3 phase, 60 Hz, 1720 RPM, approved for hazardous locations. The gearbox is a Heligear / Opperman Gears Ltd. Type 2HD with a 13.929:1 ratio and 125 RPM output speed. The chain drive uses approximately a 5” drive sprocket to a 12” mixer sprocket, giving an estimated mixer shaft speed of about 52 RPM.
This mixer appears complete and intact and would be suitable for dry blending applications such as feed, grain, seed, powders, dry ingredients, or light industrial mixing. Sold as-is, with buyer to verify operation, capacity, and electrical requirements.
